Breathing body ballet

is an organic approach to classical dance. It is a method for young dancers that expands their body intelligence. Breath and movement are practiced as one, awakening the instinctual sense of ones body centre. This breath-body connection creates a hightened sensitivity, a complete body awareness, a state of natural coordination. The deep pulsating, whole-body movement is a great enhancement to regular training. Ballet is not mechanical, but rather organic. Like Nature, it is a vivid thing, perfectly organized in its infinite variety. Breathing Body Ballet offers a further step in nourishing the artistic potential of future dancers.

The method is taught by its developers, Marion Whyte and Jack Waldas. They combine the knowledge of GYROKINESIS®, yoga, modern dance and biomechanics to enhance students understanding of and freedom in the ballet form.
